Two weeks in paradise with punches included, we planned on this being an annual trip after our first visit in 2019 but the world went a bit crazy but we finally got back to normality.
This trip was amazing, all coaches from Function First went along with our families and some students. We train at Lamai Muay Thai camp on the island of Koh Samui. Sessions are twice a day the first being 7am to 9am and the later one 5pm to 7pm
In the Thai heat its a gruelling two hours but a lot of fun. Coach Ash was put through her paces and booked a few private lessons with one of the Muay Thai coaches there. Dom was fighting at Chaweng stadium so his training was a little more focused, he didn’t win his fight but he went all five rounds with a Thai lad Singthong who’d had around one hundred fights, this was Dom’s first full Thai fight and it was fantastic to watch but he received some brutal knees in the last round, to make him feel better he landed an elbow.
The trip was a great mix of training and tourist trips, we went to Pig Island, an elephant sanctuary where they had been rescued from the logging and tourist trade, we visited temples and spent days on the beach swimming in the sea, it truly is paradise
We are planning next years trip soon, possibly August 2024 or September, we will announce dates when we have them, everyone is welcome, no matter your level, its a great experience and such a beautiful place.
If you’d like to train Muay Thai and K1 style kickboxing with us and maybe come to Thailand next year then give Paula a call on 01522 543 787 and book a free trial
